Abstract

Two new genera with two new species of Coniopterygidae, Gigantoconis septemimacula gen. et sp. nov. and Planiconis bimaculata gen. et sp. nov. are described from Upper Cretaceous amber of northern Myanmar, which are assigned to Aleuropteryginae. Gigantoconis septemimacula gen. et sp. nov. is distinct at the large body size within the hitherto known Myanmar amber dusty lacewings, characterized by the more segmented flagellum and particular venation. Planiconis bimaculata gen. et sp. nov. is most characterized by the dorsal-ventrally flattened head. The new findings update our understandings to the biodiversity of Cretaceous Coniopterygidae during the Mesozoic. A key to Myanmar amber genera of Coniopterygidae is provided.
