Abstract
Continuous development of SHS generates new scientific and technological directions in this field. One new direction is solution combustion synthesis (SCS). Another direction is based on the layer-by layer magnetron deposition of altering layers of solid reactants (such as Ni and Al) to form reactive multilayer nanofilms. A third new direction is mechanical activation of SHS.
