Abstract
Introduction This paper presents an educational philosophy and implied strategy derived from an analysis of the political basis of management education. This builds specifically upon the ideas of Paulo Freire as expressed in his Cultural Action For Freedom and Pedagogy of The Oppressed. The problem of ideology is met “head‐on” resulting in the definition of new directions for management education. Emphasis is upon the development in students of a capability for “self‐management”.
