Abstract

During a survey of the chrysophyte stomatocyst flora in surface sediments of 34 lakes in Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, 14 new stomatocysts were observed. These new cysts were described based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations. Their morphology was compared with the most similar morphotypes worldwide. The obtained records improve our knowledge on the stomatocyst diversity in low latitude high mountain lakes of the world.
