Abstract

Abstract An easy and efficient method for the preparation of the new Au/FeOx/SiO 2 catalysts towards low-temperature CO oxidation has been developed. FeO x promoted SiO 2 calcined at different temperatures were used as novel carriers and supported Au catalysts were prepared by precipitation–deposition technique. It was found that the carrier only dried at 383 K supported Au catalyst exhibited better catalytic activity, over which CO conversion reached 100% at a temperature as low as 350 K. Higher dispersion of FeO x and Au, more active sites and stronger interaction between Au and FeO x could be responsible for its higher activity.
