Abstract

This paper presents a cylindrical core placed in a uniform magnetic field and magnetized in the axial direction. The proposed method is based on the permeance method in which both the core and the air gap are represented by equivalent magnetic circuits. The results obtained agree well with those obtained by the flux distribution method. The method proposed in this paper is purely analytical, not empirical. Agreement between measured and calculated results confirms validity of the proposed method.
