Abstract

Abstract The acidity of NiSO 4 /γ–Al 2 O 3 catalyst is one of the factors remarkably affecting alkene oligomerization and to which the acid site with strength of H o ° - 3.0 is to be related. It can be concluded that ethene dimerization can be attributed to coordination catalysis, propene oligomerization might proceed via both coordination catalysis and acid catalysis, while 1—butene oligomerization seems to proceed via acid catalysis.
