Abstract
The possibility of applying the near infrared gas dynamic lasers (GDL) for neutralization of negative ion beams is examined. A criterion of neutralization is suggested. The use of the criterion makes it possible to select an optically active medium for a negative ion neutralization. To demonstrate the method media containing hydrohalogens as imitating molecules are taken.
