Abstract

This monograph reviews all areas of serotonin neuropharmacology, from work on the serotonin autoreceptor and imipramine binding site, to the classification and identification of receptor sub-types and serotonin-mediated phosphoinosital breakdown. There are sections on the pharmacology of antidepressant, anti-anxiety, and hallucinogenic drugs, and in vivo monitoring of drug action by various techniques. There are also chapters on the effects of drugs on serotonin metabolism, serotonin-mediated behaviour, and on invertebrate pharmacology.
