Abstract
Emotion regulation (ER) is disrupted in multiple psychiatric disorders and changes with aging, with evidence for a role of reproductive hormones. The goal of this multi-modal study was to examine the relationship of the hormones progesterone and estradiol with behavioral and neurocircuitry measures of ER, along with markers of neuronal function in core ER network nodes, in midlife women.
