Abstract

Seeking input from information technology (IT) professionals provides IT educators with the opportunity to revise curricula to keep course content current. This research is an extension of a 1997 telecommunications course content Delphi study for a beginning networks and telecommunications course at the college or university level. Two Delphi studies were completed with the following groups: 1) industry group (Association of Information Technology Professionals – AITP) and 2) educator group (Organizational Systems Research Association – OSRA). Through the Delphi process the two groups developed individual lists of content to be included in a networks and telecommunications course. The purpose of this manuscript is to compare the networks and telecommunications course content lists developed by the educator and industry groups.
