Abstract

Abstract This chapter focuses on nematode species (including Meloidogyne, Rotylenchus and Pratylenchus spp.) known to suppress yield of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) and other fibre crops such as jute (Corchorus capsularis and C. olitorius), kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) and roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa). Information is given on their distribution, biology, population dynamics, symptoms of damage, survival, disease complexes, economic importance, and management measures, which include host resistance, cultural, chemical and biological control methods.
