Abstract
ABSTRACT Can digital transformation in enterprises achieve both efficiency and fairness? By accurately identifying the true extent of digital transformation in A-share listed companies in China from 2007 to 2022, this study analyzes the social effects of enterprise digital transformation from the perspective of labour income share. Digital transformation significantly reduces labour share for enterprises; for labour-intensive and non-state-owned enterprises, the negative impact of digital transformation on the labour income share is more pronounced. This research does not substantiate the mainstream view regarding the positive impact of enterprise digital transformation on common prosperity. The findings contribute to a more accurate understanding of the socioeconomic effects of enterprise digital transformation.
