Abstract

In a drift tube mass spectrometer the following reactions have been studied CO 3 − + 2CO 2→CO 3 −CO 2 + CO 2 k ≤ 10 −35 cm 6 s −1CO 3 − + H 2O + CO 2→CO 3 −H 2O + CO 2 k ≤ 10 −33 cm 6 s −1CO 3 − + CO→CO 2 + CO 2 + e k = 5 ± 1·0 × 10 −13 cm 3 s −1CO 3 − + H 2→products k < 10 −15 cm 3 s −1 at pressures up to 70 torr. Gas temperatures up to 523 K had no observable effect on any of the ion molecule reactions.
