Abstract

With the variety of military missions overseas and constant conduction of non-combatant military operations, college English teaching in military academy nowadays cannot satisfy the demands. The paper analyzed the necessity and practicability of military professional English as the affiliated curriculum to College English education, based on the tracking surveys and interviews of 400 students who have learnt military English. As a new trend of English teaching, military professional English teaching not only aroused our thinking over the course design but satisfied our cadets’ needs in military academies. It’s proved to be a good way to cultivate more practical talents and interdisciplinary talents for our country, and to encourage cadets to go on with their professional English learning as well.
