Abstract
The design and development research approach needs analysis needs to be conducted to identify the need to develop a product. This survey study was conducted to identify students' perceptions on the use of game-based training modules in the teaching and learning process and to identify the need for the development of a game-based training module for form one geometry topics. A set of needs analysis questionnaires was administered to 457 form one students from 3 secondary schools under the administration of the Kota Bharu District Education Office (PPD). The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS software (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences) version 27.0. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that students' perceptions of the use of game-based training modules were at satisfying level. Subsequent findings also show a high percentage of the need for game -based training modules for the topic of geometry form one that is 85.5% of respondents agreed that training modules should be developed while only 15.5% disagreed. The results of this study indicate that the need for a game-based module in the teaching and learning process of form one geometry and the majority of respondents showed a high desire for the use of game-based training modules in the teaching and learning process in schools.
