Abstract

Albanian Abstract: Manni ishte njeri nder gjuhetaret dhe filologet e botes anglofone, i cili pothuajse gjate tere jetes dhe veprimtarise se tij shkencore ka hulumtuar dhe studiuar per gjuhen, letersine dhe kulturen e popullit shqiptar. Ai botoi disa tekste leksiko-gramatikore dhe disa punime publicitare e shkencore. Ne kohen kur gjuha shqipe ishte drejt rruges se normezimit, Mani ne fushen leksiko-gramatikore botoi tekste (gramatike, fjalore) dhe studime mjaft interesante. Nder tekstet qe mund t’i vecojme jane: 1. “A Short Albanian Grammar with Vocabularies, and Selected Passages for Reading’’, London, 1932, (Gramatike e shkurter e shqipes me fjalore dhe pjese te zgjedhura per lexim, Londer, 1932. 2. “N and R Alternation in the Dialects of Albania”, London, 1938, (Alternimi N ne R ne dialektet e shqipes, Londer, 1938). 3. “An English-Albanian Dictionary”, London, 1957, (Fjalor anglisht-shqip, Londer, 1957). Ne kete studim do ta analizojme kontributin e Mannit per gjuhen shqipe. Stuart Edward Manni u lind me 11 qershor 1905, ne Nottingham te Anglise. Manni studioi anglishten, frengjishten, gjermanishten dhe italishten ne Universitetin e Bristolit. Ai e ka vazhduar hulumtimin e tij shkencor duke qendruar per dy vite ne Shqiperi. English Abstract: Mani was the linguistic and he was English speaker. All his life he has studies for language, literature and Albanians culture. He has printed some papers and books, all the book was or grammar. At the time when the Albanian language was at the beginning of the novelty, Mani in the lexical-grammatical field published texts (grammar, dictionaries) and some interesting studies. Among the texts we can highlight are: 1. “A Short Albanian Grammar with Vocabularies, and Selected Passages for Reading’’, London, 1932. 2. “N and R Alternation in the Dialects of Albania”, London, 1938. 3. “An English-Albanian Dictionary”, London, 1957. In this paper I will analyze Mann's contribution for Albanian language. Stuart Edward Manni was born on June 11, 1905, in Nottingham, England. Manni studied English, French, German and Italian at the University of Bristol. He has continued his scientific research by staying for two years in Albania.
