Abstract

The article is devoted to the names of urban bike stations and bicycle-sharing systems in Poland. The main naming types of urban bike stations are discussed using selected examples from across the country. The aim of the analysis was an attempt to show the similarities and differences in relation to other urban names, namely to the names of public transport stops). It was concluded that the same naming models were used in both types of onyms. The onomastic analysis of the names of bicycle-sharing systems aimed to indicate the main functions of these onyms. It has been shown that individual elements of the names of bicycle-sharing systems have a persuasive and identifying function, and language games were used to create the names.
