Abstract

The text recalls the pioneering work on use of digital technology in language teaching in Poland, undertaken despite the lack of computers in schools and the reluctance of teachers. The article describes current innovative activities carried out in the areas of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), as well as artificial intelligence (AI). It also presents a reflection on psychological and social factors influencing the effects of using technology in language education and the role of systemic measures supporting its use.
