Abstract
The article tells about the history of the department of physical therapy and clinical biomechanics of the leading domestic center, traditionally dealing with medical rehabilitation and spa treatment. It is difficult to overestimate the significant contribution of employees of this scientific and clinical department to the formation and development of the national school of physical therapy. The traditions laid down by our predecessors continue to this day.

Саркизова-Серазини в 1928 году была создана и первая в стране кафедра лечебной физической культуры, массажа и врачебного контроля в институте физкультуры, где получили подготовку ряд врачей, ставших впоследствии ведущими специалистами в этой области во главе с член-корреспондентом Академии медицинских наук проф.
