Abstract

The National Book Chamber of Armenia is the country's center for national bibliography, bibliographic information and statistics, centralized cataloging, archival collections of pan-Armenian publications, and preservation of them. Established in 1922, the Book Chamber now has more than one million published items, including books, newspapers, magazines, music, decorative literature, maps, conference materials, programs of theatrical and cultural events, invitation cards, etc., produced in Armenia or abroad by the Armenian Diaspora. The chamber's acquisitions benefit from legal deposit of materials published in Armenia and by contributions from the Diaspora.
