Abstract
How does diversity in the organization of secretory machines determine properties of neurotransmitter release? In this issue of Neuron, Rebola etal. (2019) found that distinct nanoscale assemblies of Ca2+ channels and Munc13, not overall channel abundance, mediate differing release characteristics of two cerebellar synapses.
