Abstract

There are numerous nanofiber based structures and applications, such as in soft lithographic stamps, bio-inspired dry adhesives, ultraviolet nanolasers, solar cells, and micro-/nano-sensors. The clumping behavior of nanofibers is important for those designs. In article 1400466, Y. Tian and co-workers develop a universal model that can predict the sequences of side-side, side-tip, and tip-tip clumping of nanofibers by considering the adhesion and the bending restoring force.
