Abstract

Summary Multiple forms of the NAD-dependent aromatic alcohol dehydrogenase were analysed in leaves of monosomic plant offsprings of the wheat cultivar “Carola”. By referring by the leucine aminopeptidase zymotypes we succeeded in distinguishing for one chromosome each of the group 6 nulli-, mono- or disomic plants. Disc-electrophoretic fractionation of the NAD-AADH showed zymograms with maximum four bands. Three are considered as homo- and/or heterodimeric enzyme forms (NAD-AADH- 1: ββ, δδ, βδ, NAD-AADH-2: αδ, αδ, NAD-AADH-3: αα). The protein subunits α, β and δ are coded by one structural gene, on each chromosomes 6A, 6B and 6D.
