Abstract

Knight-shift and spin-lattice relaxation time have been measured on 31P in an amorphous (Mo 0.5Ru 0.5) 80P 20 alloy obtained by splat-cooling. Measurements were carried out in applied fields of 5.2 and 8.7 kG in the normal state and in the mixed superconducting state for temperatures down to 1.4°K (T co = 5.4°K). Just below T c (T c/T = 1.1), the reduced relaxation rate peaks at a value R s/R n of 1.5; then, it decreases, for 1.2 ⩽ T c/T ⩽ 2.5, according to an exponential law yielding an energy gap value in excellent agreement with BCS prediction for weak-coupled superconductors.
