Abstract

The amounts of hydrocarbons that are produced today by the oil industry continue to increase causing great environmental pollution. The reaction present here is an alternative to waste hydrocarbons recovery. In this work it present the n-heptane oxidation mediated by the coordination compound [Mn(C16H14N2O2)AcO]. The most significant reaction products were alcohol (n-buthanol) and seven carbons ketones (mainly 2-heptanone, 3-heptanone and 4-heptanone). The n-hepthane oxidation is favored toward the formation to n-butanol in aqueous medium and ketone formation in solvent without water. The oxidation products were identified by GC-MS
