Abstract

This paper descrides the mechanism of the energy transmission for the deformation on the electrohydraulic forming. By the high speed photography, the first part of this study is intended to show that the gas energy is essential to deform the blank. In the second part, the importance of the gas energy is demonstrated by the experiments on the effects of the hydrostatic head. The most remarkable fact on the results of the experiments is that the deforming mechanism is devided into two stages. Thus, this study clears up the deforming mechanism of this forming, and indicates the effective method to utilize the gas energy.
