Abstract
We have already discussed several models to use renewable energy in the local society. For examples, the package of artificial reef and tidal energy is effective for the resource of leisure and/or sightseeing, and in the isolated islands, Bamboo Charcoal can become a commodity as a fuel, as a filter for drinking water and so on. But these usages cannot make high profits, so it is difficult to raise funds. But in the technological history, the effective utilization of renewable energy was developed by volunteer activities of the residents. For example, until the beginning of the19th century, ship-waterwheel of the river was practical power both in Japan and Europe, and in these cases, waterwheel was shared. In short, the renewable energy is not suitable to use for profit, but to use for share. Oppositely crowdfunding (CF) replaces volunteer activities and has the functions to propel the social implementation of renewable energy. In this paper, we examine the possibility of CF to realize the social implementation of slightly profitable but highly public projects.
