Abstract

The permeation response of hydrogen and deuterium through nickel under the oscillating pressure condition was measured to determine the diffusion coefficient including no surface effect, and the characteristics of the surface effect were also analysed in its isotope dependence. The diffusion coefficients of H and D in Ni determined by the pressure oscillation permeation method are;(This article is not displayable. Please see full text pdf.) The isotope dependence of the surface effect is that the equilibration of gas phase and solid solution in nickel is attained faster for hydrogen than for deuterium.
