Abstract

Results obtained on the radioinduced polymerization of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide mixed with acrylonitrile showed that at room temperature, a high content of the homopolymer of acrylonitrile is obtained, but as the temperature decreased, it decreased with increasing content of the alkylene oxide copolymer. The copolymer content of the oxide became highest at --196 deg C. It was concluded that polymerization occurred without the production of a mixture of 2 homopolymers. (OID)
