Abstract

In our previous study, we proposed a strip method of motions of ship moored along jetty, which employed a singularity distribution method, G=logR. Applying to an arbitrary bathymetry around the ship, it was difficult to calculate the three-dimensional exciting forces of ship precisely due to wave direction and phase difference in direction of ship's bow and stem. In this paper, a combined numerical simulation method of wave transformation for nonlinear irregular wave and strip method on ship motions moored at arbitrary bathymetry is proposed, and we investigate the effect on ship motions of the uneven water depth (bathymetry), applying to a bulk carrier.
