Abstract

The present study describes tribological properties of the textured surface applied with a roll forming process. A chromium alloy steel (SUJ2) disc was used for the specimen. Continuous and discontinues grooves were fabricated on the disc surface. A roller burnishing was applied to the textured surface after the roll forming for truncation. The tribological properties were evaluated with 3 balls on disc type testing apparatus in lubricated condition. Results showed that the friction coefficient of mirror finish surface was low and stable. Wide surface width is in the texturing was the lowest coefficient of friction.
