Abstract

In late years Mg alloy is utilized as a lightweight metal member by various products such as notebook-sized personal computer product or outer packing of an MD player. And the alloy constituent continues changing toward improvement of hardness and flame resistance for new use and characteristic. So it was assumed that we developed analysis technology corresponding to additional elements and impurity administration elements of Mg alloy. The element which I intended for did it with Mg alloy thought about currently as the mainstream and the thing that I thought that addition and administration were necessary by use development in future. We developed 19 chemical element in Mg alloy to be able to cope with three quantitative method using an ICP atomic emission spectrometer. We were able to develop 17 chemical element except Si and Zr in 19 chemical element with a method to be simple and easy to measure with an ICP atomic emission spectrometer after having dissolved with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. We were able to develop a method to measure Si and Zr with an ICP atomic emission spectrometer using the each original solution process which met the elemental characteristic.
