Abstract

The N = 2 supersymmetric particle is studied and the consistent couplings to external N = 2 super-Yang-Mills and N = 2 supergravity theories are given. The consistency conditions result in a set of representation-preserving constraints on the respective field strength and torsions. We also generalize the action of a superparticle to incorporate a fifth bosonic dimension connected with a central charge. These models coupled to external fields provide us with dimensionally reduced super-Yang-Mills theories both with and without an off-shell central charge.
