Abstract

A case is presented in which endometrial resection was performed to treat menorrhagia in the presence of a fibroid. The patient’s symptoms remained unchanged and a total abdominal hysterectomy was performed. Histological investigation of the fibroid showed it to be a leiomyosarcoma. This is a rare complication which should be considered in any patient being treated by conservative measures.
