Abstract
An error in the data on the muon component of extensive air showers presented at the 10th International Conference on Cosmic Rays is corrected. The effect on the explanation of the anomalies in the muon data which involved an abnormally large transverse momentum is considered, and an alternative explanation for the persisting anomalies in the data is suggested.
