Abstract
Abstract The essence of the phenomenon of the muon catalysed fusion (μCF) is explained. The today status of the muon catalysis investigations is presented and various aspects of μ CF application are discussed. Muon catalysed fusion as a probe of few nucleon system structure is considered and the theoretical analysis of the methods to obtain the relevant information is presented. The kinetics of μ CF processes in the hydrogen isotope mixture is considered and the observables in μ CF are related to the characteristics of the fusion reactions between hydrogen isotopes. The perspectives and unsolved problems are outlined.
