Abstract

The problem of thermally insulated cracks in an infinite plate is governed by two systems of singular integral equations obtained previously. One system of singular integral equations is derived from the heat conduction problem, and the other one from the elasticity problem. In this paper the two systems of singular integral equations are reduced to two systems of Fredholm integral equations by the use of suitable substitutions of the unknown functions. The resulting systems of Fredholm integral equations are solved numerically. Finally, several numerical examples are given in this paper.
