Abstract

Alvo and Cabilio [Alvo, M., Cabilio, P., 1995b. Testing ordered alternatives in the presence of incomplete data. J. Amer. Statist. Assoc. 90, 1015–1024] extended the Page and Jonckheere tests when randomized blocks are incomplete. Here we use the step-down testing procedure of Marcus et al. [Marcus, R., Peritz, E., Gabriel, K.R., 1976. On closed testing procedures with special reference to ordered analysis of variance. Biometrika 63, 655–660] to identify which treatments differ, and illustrate the method by an example.
