Abstract
Gradient index (GRIN) lenses have seen tremendous interest for their ability to improve the directivity of existing antennas. This interest has been exacerbated with the development of quasiconformal transformation optics and the surge in popularity of additive manufacturing techniques such as 3D printers. Moreover, with the aid of powerful inverse-design techniques GRIN lenses can be optimized to achieve a wide range of performances. In this paper, a multi-objective optimization strategy is proposed specifically for the design study of multi-band GRIN lenses. A conceptual device demonstration is provided as well as a discussion of future work.
