Abstract

This paper presents the design of multi-featured fractal microstrip patch antenna. The fractal antenna will lead to multiple features such as low profile, wide band and/or multiple resonating frequencies. The microstrip patch antenna will be designed using the combination of Sierpinski and Koch fractal geometry. This combination will lead to a microstrip patch antenna with profile as low as 120.90 sq. mm. This is achieved due to space-filling property of Sierpinski geometry. Multiple resonating frequencies such as 4.040 GHz and 6.566 GHz are achieved due to the self-similar property of Koch fractal geometry. A wide band of 2.929 GHz is obtained by using appropriate number of iterations. Such antenna will be suitable for wireless communication applications. The antenna is designed and simulated using ADS software.
