Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of multidisciplinary interventions that incorporate active family participation in the development of children with ASD. Methodology: The Integrative Literature Review method, the PICO strategy, was adopted to formulate the research question. the search terms were combined with the Boolean operators AND and OR, generating specific search expression used in the databases: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and PubMed, as well as manual searches of references. Results: The studies were published between 2015 and 2023, analyzing 244 children/adolescents with ASD, 150 fathers/family members and 54 mothers of these children, 27 professionals (psychologists, teachers and physical educators) and multidisciplinary teams that deal with autistic children. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary collaboration, involving the family, plays a crucial role in the development of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder compared to interventions that do not include family participation.
