Abstract
In 1997 Petrobras, the national oil company of Brazil, offered the oil and gas industry 57 exploration and 92 producing opportunities for joint venture projects. After Petrobras released data, selected participants were allotted approximately two months for initial evaluation and determination of prospectivity. If interest continued after the initial period, an additional two months were allotted for more detailed analysis. This paper summarizes multidisciplinary and crossfunctional geophysical work by Mobil to evaluate several deepwater offerings in the Campos Basin.
