Abstract

The paper considered a phenomenon of multicultural toler-ance within the current actualities in Ukraine. The study of multiculturalism and related problems of tolerance correlated with changes incurred to the framework of world culture ad-vancement in a whole, resulting in a new vector of shaping public relations. Ukraine coming onto the modern world sce-ne necessitated new societal relations to consider for the multicultural global community. The study has noticed that strengthening the position of multiculturalism and tolerance in the domain of interaction among cultures and peoples, and civilizations in the framework of globalizing community has no alternative. Factors having involved civil strife were related to the (ethnic cultural) identity that seemed to be the most important issue for Ukraine. Multicultural tolerance may be regarded as one of most important social and cultural integrators for this situation. The author declared that the modern paradigm of social world order being fully consistent with the principle of multicultural tolerance with regard to social life setting. Multicultural tolerance presented the prin-cipal requirement for harmony of social relations capable of contributing to the way out of the critical situation that has emerged in Ukraine. Shaping tolerant relations between the state, society and an individual in Ukraine has shown to be a very important factor in the course of progressive changes to the modern shape of the Ukrainian national idea.
