Abstract

In this paper, various forms of multiculturalism will be explained and related to the field of Art Education. This explanation will draw on the analysis of curriculum theorists Sleeter and Grant's (1988; 1993) five multicultural approaches found in general education. Further discussion of the relationship between various multicultural art education projects and their association with social reconstruction will be analyzed according to decisions concerning curriculum design, teaching methods, content, goals, and objectives.
