Abstract

The selection of the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) for the Spotlight Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system is a key step. The echo signal of Squint SAR has smaller FM slope, longer accumulation time and larger signal processing operation. The design in previous research generally considers avoiding range ambiguity and azimuth ambiguity, its minimum PRF is too high, which can lead to a further increase of in the amount of system operations. In order to improve this situation, in the following adopts the Multi-constraint PRF selection. This paper quantitatively analyze the range ambiguity and azimuth ambiguity, and refine the calculation process of ambiguity. Combined with the range ambiguity, azimuth ambiguity, Doppler bandwidth, and multiple constraints of the system's computing power, select the PRF under the limit of the ambiguity value -22dB, for different sloping distance and squint angles are simulated and analyzed for the selection range of PRF.
