Abstract
Objective To research the current status of self-perceived burden (SPB) in elderly patients with hypertension combined with coronary heart disease (CHD), and analyze their influencing factors. Methods A total of 452 elderly patients with hypertension combined with coronary disease from six centers were selected as the research object, and were investigated with self-designed patients′ general information questionnaire, self-perceived burden scale (SPBS), FRAILscale, geriatric depression scale (GDS-15), Barthel index (BI) questionnaire, family APGAR index (FAI) and simple nutritional evaluation method (MNA-SF). Results The range of SPB score in elderly patients was 10~47 points. The score of SPB of elderly patients with hypertension combined with CHD was (23.99±8.13) points, which was at mild to moderate level, and 71% of the elderly patients with hypertension combined with CHD showed different in level of SPB. The influencing factors of self-perceived burden were the place of residence (P<0.001), self-care ability (P=0.005), depression (P=0.023), and the recent health status (P=0.028). Conclusions The elderly patients with hypertension combined with CHD commonly experience mild to moderate level of self-perceived burden, and we should take positive measures to alleviate their SPBaimed at the main influencing factors.
