Abstract
We address the effect of spatially correlated fading on the performance of a multiuser communication system. A minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) detector which takes into account the degree of channel correlation is presented. The symbol error rate (SER) as a function of the angular spread of the signal and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is derived and validated by simulation. This work extends previous results which considered completely uncorrelated and fully correlated fading conditions, to fading with arbitrary correlation.
