Abstract

Three female patients, aged 39 to 69 years, sought out the stomatology clinic, complaining of asymptomatic swelling in the buccal mucosa, with evolution ranging from 2 months to 2 years. The lesions were mobile, showed a firm consistency, were covered by intact mucosa, and presented a normal color, with sizes ranging from 5mm to 30mm. The diagnostic hypotheses were glandular neoplasia or benign mesenchymal neoplasia. Incisional biopsies showed that the lesions were poorly defined and adhered to the underlying muscle tissue. Histological sections showed malignant glandular neoplasia characterized by sheets of epidermoid cells and mucous cells forming cystic structures of varying sizes. The histopathological diagnosis was mucoepidermoid carcinoma for all cases. All lesions were treated only by surgical excision with a safety margin, and the patients had no signs of recurrence for at least six months.
