Abstract
The objectives of this qualitative research are to know the beliefs that students of pedagogy in recent history to have income on the historical method. Knowledge that would allow the design of specific teaching methods to develop historical thinking in future teachers. Based on a qualitative-descriptive dense and hermeneutical research , focus group were applied to teacher in training in the Araucania, Chile. The results unveiled that recognize the role of sources to understand situations from the past that affect the present. They also identify the historian as last rebuilder. However, on their experience of using method in the classroom report that the main form of learning was the professor and resources designed for it.
